As an Artist specializing in digital photo painting and computer generated art I am unequivocally drawn to macro photography with an emphasis on texture, color, and form as found in Nature. Land and seascapes as well as architectural structures also creep into the mix, so it is fair to say that I photograph anything that peaks my interest and turn it into an organic representation or abstract of the same. Art which begins as a photograph often renders as impressionistic or surreal, having been transformed through various processes and creative digital painting. My photos are used as points of departure to create fresh images that take on new levels and dimensions.
People also play a major role in contributing to my creativity. I especially enjoy observing and documenting activities and traditions along with the expressions and reactions people exhibit. I am an award winner and member of EBSQ, Imagekind, and Red Bubble, and was featured in the latter two.
Inspiration is found all around me, mostly in my garden and local surroundings, through travel and even in photos which have been shelved for some time. If I am suddenly 'hit' with an idea when reviewing photos, that is when I am inspired to 'create' a new and different image, taking the image to the next level. I create for my own sanity and peace of mind and do not foist my work upon anyone, but if something in my portfolio reaches out and touches you in such a way that you would enjoy 'living' with it, that would make my day! I am serious about my art and hope that it satisfies the observer's intellect and curiosity.
